Self-installation of a fence
How to build a checkerboard fence? It is not difficult to make, but to do it yourself, you need to have knowledge.
- The process of building a fence from wooden boards must begin with clearing the area and installing the support posts. First of all, you need to decide on the location of the supports and dig holes into which the supports will be dug. The depth of the holes should be determined based on the height of the fence. The more massive the fence, the deeper the holes will be needed. To dig holes for the support posts, you can use either a regular shovel or a drill, which is much more effective than the previous option. The standard depth of the holes is about 110-120 cm.
- Once the holes are prepared, the supports need to be lowered into them. They can be made of wood, metal or concrete. As practice shows, it is best to use wooden or metal poles, since their cost is much cheaper than other materials, and the installation process is much simpler. Profiled pipes are perfect as metal poles, and if you decide to install wooden supports, then before immersing them in the ground, it is recommended to treat the lower part with special preparations that will prevent wood from rotting.
- The wooden support pole, immersed in a hole, should be tightly packed with small stones, and sand should be poured into the cracks between them. This is done to achieve greater density. If a metal pipe is used, then after immersing the pole in the hole, it should be filled with gravel and cemented.
- To fix the supports in a strictly vertical position, you can use additional supports. After securing the beams, you need to move on to installing the fence boards. In order for the latter to be located at the same distance from each other, you need to mark the places where they will be attached and install the elements on both sides in a checkerboard pattern.
